Bilingualism in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Classroom Context

This study explores the process and obstacles of bilingualism at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The research was descriptive qualitative research. samples this were 20 students. data used collected from observation, questionnaires, interviews, documentation. sources students grade VIII one English teacher Data analysis performed using a Linker's scale for questionnaire data, reduction, presentation, verification, conclusions. results showed that students' interactions with teachers in bilingual class Yogyakarta learning still ineffective experienced difficulties hinder interaction process. findings as follows (1) Students felt insecure if they had to use full interact friends class, afraid mispronouncing correctly adequately, did not master vocabulary well, only classroom. (2) teaching follows: ashamed taught necessity sometimes, Bahasa Indonesia language friends, by excellent correct pronunciation.
